Felony
A Felony crime is any crime which may be punishable by sentencing to the Florida Department of Corrections. These sentences span from a minimum of one year and one day to a maximum of life. The State of Florida is a capital punishment state so the death penalty for applicable crimes is possible. The felony division handles intake of all felony cases as well as court dates and final disposition of the case(s). The deputy clerks can advise you of upcoming court dates and the status of an ongoing case.
For a defendant wanting to file a motion on his or her own behalf, pro se motion forms are available. The filing fee for this type of motion is $5 and once the motion has been filed you will be given a court date. Please be advised the Clerk’s Office cannot give legal advice and therefore cannot assist you with completing this form.
The above motion can be located in the Forms page
